To really take full advantage of your cell phone features, there are a few basic tools that you should get immediately after making your purchase. Without them you will never know the power of your phone, and what's the point of getting locked into a multi year contract if you're not going to get every bit of super juice that you can out of it. So here's my list of 3 necessities:

• USB cable. Sure there are a lot of things you can do with bluetooth, but a direct connection will always be fastest. You need a USB cable to sync your cell phone to your computer - the first step to unleashing the power of your cell phone features.
• Drivers for your phone: You won't be able to do much with the USB cable without the software drivers. You may have to buy the CD, but sometimes you can find them free online, like with Samsung phones.
• Audacity. Why pay for ringtones when you can easily make your own from songs that are already on your computer?! That's just throwing money away. Download Audacity to your computer and start personalizing your phone with ringtones made from your favorite songs. Check out the instructions on how to do it.
