18 Programs That Will Rock Your iPhone

iPhoneRobert Scoble polled his Twitter followers about their favorite iPhone programs and reported the results (along with his fave apps) in this FastCompany.com article. Read it to get full details but here are the highlights:

First thing to do: Most of these apps require a jailbroken iPhone, so hit up iJailBreak.com and ZiPhone.org if you aren't already hip to what most iPhone users have already done.

News: Google Reader (of course), PimpMyNews.com, which turns text blogs into MP3 audio files and sportstap.mobi to get sports updates.

Photos: SmugMug for it's awesome mobile interface, Twitxr.com and iflickr if you're a Flickr user.

Music: Try SeeqPod.com to find some interesting new music and MobileScrobbler, which hooks your iPhone up to the Last.fm music service.

Video: Videora offers a free video converter that handles DVDs as well as web video including YouTube clips.

Social media: Facebook (eventually everybody gets sucked into Facebook - although my brother is the last holdout), Meebo.com and Beejive for instant messaging. For Twitter users, iTweet, PocketTweets and Hahlo.

Backup: Time Capsule. It remotely backs up your contacts, data, call history, calendar, and a ton of other stuff.
